| Sansia |
| Yelena was a simple elven woman at heart, kindhearted and
rather pretty. Her dilemma was that she was born into a guild that was
bloodthirsty and cruel by nature. Yet, like many others, she would not
leave the only life she knew, for she was afraid to make her life alone
in an uncertain world. As a form of quiet rebellion, she became skilled in the arts of healing instead of taking up the sword as was expected. Often she would be seen in the fields gathering herbs and roots that she would then prepare into healing poultices throughout the night. Whenever a hunting group would go out she would go with them to help tend the wounded. On one such occasion, she got separated from her group and in trying to find her way home, chanced across a young human man who was left for dead by her guild. By his clothes she could see that he was of noble birth and knew that if she was to help him in particular, she would probably face death. Yet she could not leave him in his plight, and began the arduous process to restore him to his health. |
|
| During his slow recovery they got to know each other and in time fell in love. The situation
was hopeless for them however. Even if the status of each didn't matter, their guilds at this point
were mortal enemies. After he returned back to his keep, they continued to meet in secret as often
as they could. Then on one heartbreaking day she found out that he would return to her no more, as
he was killed in a war protecting the rights of others. Distraught beyond belief, the only thing that kept her sanity was the knowledge that she was soon to give birth. To her surprise, triplets were born to her who she named Sansia, Sansie and Sansi. The oddest thing was that it was soon discovered that the sisters shared an uncommon psychic bond, each knowing through this link what the other felt, knew and thought. Yelena brought up her daughters alone, imparting in them her inborn kindness and a sense of right and wrong. The girls grew to be easygoing and amicable, slow to anger, yet fierce in their devotion to the handpicked few they considered true friends. The sisters were trained in magery and fended for one and all as best they could till the untimely death of their mother. At which point they were mostly free to go explore the world as they have always hoped to do. And since this is Sansia's story we will pick it up from her point of view... As Sansia made friends throughout the land, she one day was invited to join a band of adventurers who were working at bringing up their battle skills. In casual conversation her guild affiliation was spoken of, and caused concern to one Aracoix man in particular. Unknown to Sansia at the time, was that this man was actually the leader of the Clan she was grouping with. Curious, she rather freely asked him why he was wary of her. And what he told her truthfully turned her life upside down: Her guild, as seen through the eyes of another. She returned to her guild and shortly ascertained that what was told to her was true. Disillusioned and dispirited, she realized that she had to leave her position and home, for she could no longer stay there and remain true to herself. More than anything, she longed to join the leader she met. To her, Lord Michlo was the personification of honour and wisdom; devoted to his Clan, fair and just, a natural born leader who she greatly respected and admired. |
|
Late one night she requested a private audience with him.
Much to her surprise, he granted her wish to join his Clan, judging her
on her own merits and not her origin. Moved by his act of kindness, in
her heart and soul she knew that her allegiance to him was unsurpassed
by any other person in all of Aerynth. Her sisters, who knew and felt
all through their special link, are equally as committed and dedicated
to him as Sansia always will be, and all are at his command. And so it was that Sansia joined Clan Walker, and in time was asked to join the Inner Council. Lord Michlo, in his generosity, provided Sansia with a beautiful three-story Sage Shop within which she lived and made wondrous magical items for the Clan. Many exciting adventures and glorious battles later, she still marvels at her good fortune to have had that chance encounter so long ago. |
| Sinister Forces indeed. With a fell swoop, the world of
Clan Walker was destroyed. Some found themselves on other lands in Aerynth,
where much to their relief they saw that they only had to rebuild. Far
harsher was the magick wrought upon the majority of the Clan who found
themselves in another realm entirely, named Istaria. Here, not only were
they all homeless, but also reincarnated as complete novices with even
their appearance changed. It was here that Sansia found herself. No signs
of her sisters, Sansie and Sansi. Her link to them broken, she could only
assume that they were still in Aerynth somewhere, hopefully safe. The Clan, under the leadership of Lord Michlo, began the arduous process of rebuilding their various skills and talents. Many took up crafting as well, becoming skilled entrepreneurs. It became apparent in time that in this strange land it was impossible to build a mighty city like they enjoyed before. Instead, they had to settle for homesteads which were hard to come by and scattered far from each other. Be that as it may, the Clan once again began to grow strong, drawing new members and making many new friends. |
|
| During this time, Sansia once again took up the mantle of mage. She
became a jeweler, and dabbled in enchantment. Lord Michlo renamed his
Inner Council to the Royal Court, and she found happiness and fulfillment
in continuing her duties to her beloved Liege. For a while, she worried about her Lord's uncharacteristic reclusiveness which was brought on by the personal battle he waged within himself. She tried to stay close by him in the hopes that she could offer comfort and encouragement; but knew it would be in his own heart that he would find the strength to overcome any obstacle set before him. And true to her beliefs, in time he did. |
|
One of Sansia's greatest joys in Istaria, was the appearance
of one of her oldest and dearest friends from her original guild. General
Draigo's reputation was widespread and known throughout most of Aerynth
as a Mighty Berserker with a heart of gold, who always stood ready to
help those in need. It was with a happy heart that she saw him join Clan
Walker from it's very start in Istaria, and was full of pride when Lord
Michlo made him a member of His Royal Court a few months after. She adventured
with him again, much to her fun and delight! Her personal bane in Istaria was that there seemed to be an entity who had taken a particular interest in her. His origin was unknown to her, and she simply referred to him as the Demon Crash. Her friends tried earnestly to help her exorcise this demon from her life, but to no avail, and he continued to nip at her heels relentlessly. In truth, she eventually gave up hope to ever vanquish this demon, and instead concentrated to do the best she could to outwit him. |
| Under the shadow of this demon, Sansia worked toward getting her mage
skills up, longing for the day when she can truly be an asset in battle
again; in the interim, some of her most enjoyable times were spent watching
Lord Michlo, Lord Draigo, and Master Anroth in action. Something truly
inspiring to see such great warriors slash through armies of the undead
with such finesse and ability. And as always, there is something new to
be learned by the example they set. So Sansia waited... patience was something she had learned long ago. She knew her time to slay will come again. And thus, life continued on Istaria. One could only wonder what the future would bring and look forward to whatever adventures might then arise. |
| It came to pass that life on Istaria became unbearable to most of
it's residents. The demon that plagued Sansia spread it's evil ever
further till hardly a soul was left untouched; if not in one way, then
another. Lord Michlo knew something had to be done. Mysterious forces
got put into play once more... Sansia found herself and the majority of Clan Walker in a new realm yet again; and to their further surprise, one that was thrown far into the future. Spaceports? Planet travel? Droids? AT-ST's? What?! Where are the comfortable spells of the four elements? The cozy surroundings of medieval towns and a simple life? Try as she could she could not call upon any of her previous mage skills, and sincerely questioned how she would survive in a world so unfamiliar to her. But Clan Walker is a resilient group of resourceful and determined people. With Lord Michlo at the helm, anything is possible. And it soon became clear that this realm was one that was well suited to all. In a very short time, Clan Walker once again was able to build a strong and thriving city, growing each day with all the comforts that one could wish for. The old timers kept their history of past realms to themselves so as not to be thought insane in this world, and all set about to make there way among their new friends that joined the family. Sansia decided that the best way to start her adventures was to become a dancer; as by working in different Cantina's she could quickly grasp the feel of the residents and their customs, as well as get a good understanding of the different strengths and weaknesses of the professions they were employed in. She found she enjoyed dancing greatly, for it allowed the creative part of her to shine through as well as giving her the opportunity to meet many interesting people. As she advanced, her healing and buffing abilities grew in strength, and she found that very good coin could be earned by dancing in private gigs within which she became quite popular. In time, she became a Master Dancer and opened her own cantina, The Prelude, in Walker City. But she was still not content, as the old longing for battles still beat strongly in her heart. She tried her hand with pistols and rifles but found no satisfaction with these sort of weapons. The only fighting profession that interested her was the Tera Kasi Artist: a master of unarmed combat. It was the only one that called upon the strengths within to deal with opponents and was probably the closest she could compare to Mage. And so she set upon that path slowly soloing her way. As it happened, one of the first new friends she made in a Cantina was a Wookiee warrior by the name of SerengettiYetti. He was a leader in another guild with a widespread reputation of being an unstoppable force, for not much could stand in his way. A Rebel Corporal; who was as much feared by his enemies as loved by his friends. When Sansia completed her basic training she asked him to Mentor her and became his Student. What followed were weeks of dedicated one on one studying and practice until Sansia became a Master Tera Kasi Artist. During this time, to the surprise of both, a budding romance blossomed and their deep devotion to each other became obvious to all. Sansia had never been in love with anyone before and she floated on air. Then on one fine day, without Sansia's knowledge, SerengettiYetti asked Lord Michlo for Sansia's hand; and her Liege consented to the union. Seren, having prepared everything beforehand, then asked Sansia to go with him to the majestic waterfalls by De'ja Peak on Naboo, where he very romantically asked her to marry him. Sansia, surprised, was overjoyed to accept... and not wanting to raise a fuss, quietly eloped with SerengettiYetti on the spot. To this day where one is, the other is usually not far behind; and both are blissfully in love with each other. Presently, Sansia is the happiest she has been in a long time. She continues to serve her beloved Lord Michlo, who has since advanced her to his 2nd Officer in the Royal Court. Within the Clan she has grown more quiet and reflective, becoming more of an observer watching all that passes within; while working behind the scenes and helping those who are in need. She loves to dance, experimenting with many different styles as suits her mood, still on occasion performing before a few favorite customers who have grown dear to her. She enjoys the fact that finally she is able to battle most anything with caution not fear, as she travels and explores the planets. She is continuing to advance in Force Sensitive combat skills, and has recently joined the Rebel Pilots in their patrols in space. Aye... the gods are smiling upon Sansia, and she hopes they continue to for some time yet! Written by: Sansia on: 10/31/04 |
